Approval Obtained for Establishment of Suzhou Representative Office
- Expanding network in China up to 1 branch and 5 representative offices -
|
| |
Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. (President: Hiroshi Hirano; hereinafter “Sompo Japan”) obtained approval from China Insurance Regulatory Commission, on December 1, 2003, to establish a representative office in Suzhou in the aim of improving our customer services in China.
Our business network in China will be reinforced by this approval, consisted of 1 branch (Dalian) and 5 representative offices (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Suzhou). |
| |
| Suzhou is one of the important cities located in the Changjiang delta area, in the Huadong Region of China, and over 150 Japanese companies have extended their business into the area and the number is expected to grow. With our new Suzhou representative office, we will provide the companies with a wide variety of non-life insurance services including local insurance information and expertise in risk management. |
| |
As the Chinese insurance market has been liberalized step by step since China’s entry to the WTO, foreign insurance companies are expected to expand their more business chances.
Sompo Japan has been reinforcing its operation networks by opening the Dalian Branch in July 2003, entering into business alliance agreements in September with two Korean non-life insurers to cooperate in China and other Asian markets, and starting the 24-hour acceptance of claims report in Japanese and Chinese in October regarding corporate insurances. We will continue our utmost efforts in improving the insurance services in China. |
